AeroVision Canada Qualifies for RFSA Stream 1 of Canada's Defence Drone Initiative Marketplace

HALIFAX, NOVA SCOTIA — AeroVision Canada has been issued a Supply Arrangement under Stream 1 of the Government of Canada's Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) Marketplace, formally accepting the company into the federal supplier qualification process for Uncrewed Aerial Systems in support of the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Coast Guard.
The Defence Drone Initiative was launched by the Government of Canada to accelerate the development, testing, adaptation, and production of uncrewed and autonomous systems for the Canadian Armed Forces and the Canadian Coast Guard, led collaboratively by the Department of National Defence and the Defence Investment Agency. The initiative establishes a competitive supply arrangement designed to connect operational requirements with Canadian innovation, creating a more agile pathway to develop, acquire, and integrate these technologies into Canada's defence and security framework.
Qualification at this stage means AeroVision Canada has met the initial requirements set out in the Request for Supply Arrangement process, establishing the company as an eligible supplier able to compete for future opportunities as the DDI progresses. This represents an important first step in a rigorous federal process aimed at strengthening Canada's sovereign drone capability and supporting Canadian innovation, skilled jobs, and long-term economic growth.
